It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Colourpop Cosmetics. I have made many large orders in the past. Despite the ridiculous custom charges, I always find myself going back for more. Why you ask? Well their product quality is amazing and such good value for money!
Another reason to love Colourpop – they’re cruelty free and are even Vegan friendly.
Now, I wasn’t sure what I wanted for Christmas off my parents, so the very tiny Christmas list I did give them – it was mostly Colourpop! I didn’t expect to be so lucky to receive it all!
First up is the Cookies Highlighter Trio. This contains my current absolute favourite highlighter – Lunch Money (left). The other two highlighters in the trio are Stole the Show (middle) and Smoke N Whistles (right). If you’ve had Colourpop in the past, you’ll know that the texture is very… peculiar. It’s a wet texture and difficult to explain but I almost think that helps the product in a way? Especially with the highlighter, I find that it gives it that extra bit of pop!
This isn’t the best photo in the world of the highlight swatches but we’ll just roll with it! From top to bottom is: Lunch Money, Stole the Show and Smoke N Whistles. As you can see, they’re gorgeous shades. The Colourpop website have a couple different highlighter trios, this is supposed to be the best set for ‘fair skin tones’ but I think it would look great on any skin tone!
Next up is the Can You Knot lip bundle. This comes with three shades and one of each satin lip, matte lip and gloss lip. I have only ever tried the matte lip and the lippie stix so I was pretty excited to try out the satin and gloss. I was pretty impressed with Hutch (satin) it was so smooth and creamy on the lips and so easy to apply. Sookie (Gloss) admittedly needs a few layers before you can really see it on the lips but it is a gloss after all. The colour is also super pretty. Notion (matte) is a lovely berry shade which has some fab staying power!
The swatches from top to bottom are Sookie, Notion and Hutch. You can see what I mean about Sookie with the glossiness and application. You do need a lot of product to build up the colour but it’s super pretty. Hutch and Notion I can see me using a fair bit. They’re gorgeous deep wines and purples which are so perfect for this time of the year!
Onto this amazing shadow pot set: Love A Flare! I was super excited about this set because there are some gorgeous shades and I haven’t really got any green shadows. You get the following shades:
I Spy which is a matte dusty peach, Melrose which is a matte rusty/burnt orange, Moonwalk is a beautiful green with duo chrome shades, By My Side is a peach with pink due chrome shade, High Rise is a matte olive and then Head Rush is a khaki shade.
I love these shades for different reasons, I particularly fell in love with Moonwalk because of how unique it is and it’s such a gorgeous green, I can’t wait to experiment with this and see what looks I can create. Melrose is also stunning, such a deep rust which I know will work amazing with the Modern Renaissance palette.
From top to bottom: Melrose, Moonwalk, My Side, Head Rush, I Spy and High Rise.
As you can see, the pigments in the Love A Flare set do not disappoint. I don’t think the swatches even do it an ounce of justice. I really can’t wait to play with this set more.
