Charcoal is pretty popular in skincare right now, I don’t think a day goes by without seeing it on my newsfeed. I didn’t actually realise until recently how good it can be for your skin. There’s tonnes of brands out there with charcoal based products. So what makes T-Zone’s new range: Charcoal & Bamboo so special?
Well, where shall we begin?
T-Zone are a super affordable brand that can be found in high street stores like Superdrug. I really begrudge spending xxx on skincare because 90% of the time, I only use it a handful of times, I don’t like it or I just forget that it’s there. So having access to GOOD affordable skincare is a must for me. Their latest range – Charcoal & Bamboo offers a wide range of skincare options, from pore strips to self heating masks. I’m really interested in the self heating masks – curious to see how they work!
So as I said at the start, charcoal is huge right now and why is that? Well, it’s supposed to draw out all the impurities from your skin, so like dirt, oil etc that block your pores. This range is ideal for someone like me who works in a pretty dirty environment (events and marketing manager at a miniature steam railway) so despite having relatively good skin, I am prone to the odd blackhead or breakout. I would say that this range would be ideal for someone with oily and spot-prone skin.
Another thing about T-Zone is that they are a cruelty free brand which of course, is fantastic. So for all CF bloggers or CF only product users – you can add T-Zone to your list!
T-Zone Charcoal & Bamboo Black Peel Off Mask*
You see these sort of masks all over the internet at the moment. I find anything like this so interesting and therapeutic to watch – Dr. Pimple Popper anyone? So when I saw this, I was like a little kid at Christmas! Admittedly, I have fairly good skin (not trying to brag like) and I only have a handful of blackheads and white heads. Whereas, Kayne has plenty (sorry Kayne) and I’m forever trying to get them. Kayne was pretty excited about this too so as soon as he got home from work we gave this a whirl! It’s pretty straight forward, you pop a hot towel to ‘steam’ your face and open your pores, pat dry and then apply a nice, smooth layer to your skin. You can do it all over your face but we just stuck to forehead, nose and chin because I can imagine it batters pulling it off your cheeks! Plus with Kayne’s beard… I don’t think he’d forgive me if I pulled that out!
After 30 minutes, it was time to see the magic! Kayne was first and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a pretty decent amount of crap on the peel mask and it was soooo therapeutic peeling it all off. However, with me – it didn’t seem to pick up as much but I do think that’s because I don’t have many blackheads etc to begin with. Still, what it did pick up I was pretty happy with! It did also leave my skin feeling super smooth and soft. You can get this for £4.99 in Superdrug!
T-Zone Charcoal & Bamboo Black Cleansing Wipes*
I’m currently 70.30 on the cleansing wipes. You can use these to take off makeup but personally I don’t like the idea of that. For the sake of this post though I have been trying it. It’s pretty disorientating because the wipes are black so you can barely see your makeup coming off (which I love to look at, I did say I’m weird). They are full of oils though to help keep your skin nourished and hydrated which is obviously fantastic! But mostly, I have been taking off makeup with my usual micellar water and then going over my face with these. Just for good measure. They’re not as wet as I’d like them to be but that’s just my personal preference. I have decided that I will be taking these to France with me, I’m hoping they’ll prove useful in keeping my face feeling nice and fresh! Priced at just £2.99, they’re a great way to help free your face of makeup. I’d recommend only using these for light coverage/basic makeup, I tried removing my full coverage makeup with the wipes and I’m sad to say I struggled with it!
T-Zone Charcoal & Bamboo Deep Cleansing Face Scrub*
LOVE. IT. Can I just say that and leave it at that? Probably not.
Basically, this makes my face softer than a baby’s bottom! I love how it feels like it’s scrubbing all the dead skin and crap from my face. It has bamboo granules in which is the stuff that scrubs away all the impurities on your face. Again, I find this sorta stuff therapeutic so doing it on my own face gets me super excited. You might think I’m a bit weird for that but yeah… It’s ace! I did take some photos with this on my face but I wasn’t pleased with how they turned out. I will add and edit to this post at a later date once I’ve mastered the photos! I’ve not let Kayne use this yet but he’s eager to use it, I’m pretty interested to see how it makes his skin feel and look. He is prone to breakouts and admittedly, he does have oily skin. I think this will work wonders on him! I can’t believe this is only £2.99 from Superdrug… Considering some brands charge £10-20 minimum for cleansing scrubs, I find this works 10x better!
All in all, I am pretty impressed with T-Zone’s new range.
I love how good it makes my skin feel, it feels so soft, refreshed and CLEAN. For these three products, it would cost you roughly £11 which I think is absolutely fantastic. You cannot go wrong for that price, let’s be real. You can check out the full range at Superdrug and trust me, you won’t be disappointed! This new range also smells amazeballs, there’s hints of grapefruit in the products but it’s not overwhelming. There’s a lovely, delicate blend of fruit and ‘freshness’ about this range which makes me love it all the more!
