The Body Shop is a brand that literally everyone knows. They’ve been around forever. In the recent months, I’ve grown to love The Body Shop and their products, in particular their body and skincare range.
Since I’m trying to up my skincare game and actually stick to a routine. I’ve become slightly addicted to buying and trying new products. I had heard for so long that The Body Shop skincare is something else so I was eager to get my hands on some! The sad thing about living in a small town, the choice isn’t that great for shops. I’m 99% sure that whilst we do have a store, I think it’s the size of a shoe box. So of course, the product range is going to be small.
Recently, we went to Lincoln for the afternoon and did some damage our bank account, oops. The Body Shop store there is much better than the one we have! I was in there for a good 30-40 minutes talking to the staff and trying out the products. In the end, I opted for two things – the Vitamin E Hydrating toner and the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. I was recently sent the Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter* so it seemed so fitting to dedicate a whole post to The Body Shop!
In the winter months especially, my skin gets really dry and it’s just awful so I need all the hydration I can get!
The Vitamin E Hydrating Toner is so lovely. It has a really fresh/floral scent to it I find. It’s not an overwhelming smell at all and it is what I would expect something clean to smell of. The worst description ever, but we’re rolling with it ok? I use this first thing in the morning and then again in the evening after using micellar water for makeup removal. I find that this just picks up those little bits that micellar water sometimes misses. At first, I thought I would struggle to add this into my skincare routine but I surprised myself!
It leaves my skin feeling so fresh and clean. I do find that my skin feels firm after using this too but in a good way. It’s such a good price too at just £7.50, you can’t really go wrong can you? Another good thing about the toner is that it’s good for all skin types (it claims) – I have sensitive skin and as I said, gets dry in the winter. My skin hasn’t reacted badly to this at all! I’m desperate to get more from this range.
I practically fell in love with the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser in store.
Kayne did grumble a bit at the price (£16) because it is a small tub BUT the lovely lady in store stuck up for me and said that I would get tonnes of use out of the tub. I’ve even caught Kayne using it a few times so *sassy emoji*. I use the moisturiser at every chance I get because 1. it smells bloody fantastic and 2. my skin looks so alive and youthful after consistently using this. It’s designed with ‘dull, tired and grumpy’ skin in mind. Which fits me perfectly because my skin is so run down now summer is over. Literally, my skin is so seasonal it’s annoying! This gives my skin a gorgeous healthy glow. I don’t wear foundation half a much now because the glow boosting moisturiser makes me feel so incredibly confident about my skin. Definitely recommend this beauty.
The glow boosting moisturiser just absorbs straight away into my skin, I can practically feel my skin sucking it all up. Did I mention that this smells so good? There’s such a zingy/citrus vibe to it, it reminds me of the orange scent on Soarin’ in Epcot, Walt Disney World. Weird comparison I know but if you’ve been, you’ll know what I mean. For some reason, I associate citrus and zingy scents with products designed to make you feel alive so I guess that’s very fitting for this! I can’t fault this moisturiser at all. It’s definitely one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. The moisturiser will be making an appearance in many future blog posts to come!
I’ve always been a fan of their body butter.
So when there was the chance to try out their Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter* I jumped at the chance! It smells incredible. I love vanilla but pumpkin I’m 50.50 with. With pumpkin scents it can go one of two ways – it’ll either smell great or it’ll smell awful. However, with the delicate blend of vanilla, it really does create a gorgeous balance. The pumpkin works so well. Plus, how fitting is this body butter for this time of year? I can’t get enough of it. Is this the most perfect seasonal body butter around? I’d like to say so.
My original tub did sadly arrive broken at the bottom so product was everywhere! Thankfully, I managed to save the tub and a good whack of product. However, the lovely team over at The Body Shop must’ve seen on my Instagram that it was broken and very, very kindly sent me out another so a huge thank you! I didn’t expect it at all and after a pretty crappy week, it definitely made my day!
I use the body butter after every bath/shower and it leaves my skin smelling aaaamazing and super soft. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy either. There’s nothing worse than a greasy aftermath *shudders*. The Vanilla Pumpkin body butter will sit proudly in my bathroom once it’s finally finished. At the moment I’m doing that run from the bathroom into my beauty (storage) room to use this! The Vanilla Pumpkin body butter is a definite 10/10 for me. I’ve popped some of their other body butters onto my ever growing Christmas list #sorrynotsorry.
All in all, I can’t fault any of these products and I can’t wait to get more from the Vitamin E and C range especially. I love how good they make me feel and how well they work on my skin. They’re life savers for the onslaught of the cold weather for this time of year! The body butter is also something else and I’m in love with it.
