We love it don’t we? The everlasting quest to find THE perfect beauty applicator. Is it a chicken nugget? Why not a condom? Or perhaps a beauty blender or even the good ol’ fashioned brushes. Slow down for a minute. Let me tell you about the Magnitone Blend Up* brush and why they’re the future of beauty application!
This is a recent launch by Magnitone London. It’s an innovative new product and it is literally a vibrating makeup brush. How cool is that? This baby launched a couple months ago and if you follow me on social media, you would’ve seen me raving about the BlendUp Vibra-Sonic Makeup Blending Brush* in the run up to its launch. I even did a lil’ demonstration on Insta stories! When this little beauty arrived at work, I opened the box and practically squealed with excitement. I’ve never actually seen anything like this before. I just think it’s a super cool move for the beauty industry and I hope more brushes are developed in the future, imagine using this style brush for eyeshadow though…
So the idea behind this brush is that it creates the flawless, even finish that a brush, sponge and chicken nuggets can’t do.
I’m totally not over the chicken nugget thing FYI. Anyway, less talk of chicken nuggets (because using that for makeup is weird asf – so is a condom, don’t do it people) and more sharing the love for this wonderful lil gadget.
The BlendUp brush has three settings altogether.
The first one is the setting that I use the most. This setting is designed to effortlessly blend your foundation, to provide that airbrushed yet natural looking finish. This is so precise it hurts. It gets into all your knucks and crannies but it doesn’t show off your pores at all, if you have large pores that is.
The second setting is for definition. So for contouring, blusher, bronzer, highlighter. This makes applying these even easier than before, especially contour. We all know that one wrong move with contouring and it’s game over. Anyway, I don’t think my contour has ever been this good and my blusher wow, it creates the natural rosy glow I want. I’m interested to see how the other brush heads would work with this setting and for loose powder especially.
Cleaning mode is so handy because it totally gets rid of all the product. All you have to do is hold the button in for three seconds to activate cleaning, run it under warm water with whatever you use to clean your applicators with, then once the water runs clear, stick on the cleaning mode again to decrease drying time! I like to use the Real Techniques cleansing gel and Real Techniques brush cleansing palette for this. These are fairly priced too and worth the money.
Depending on the sort of coverage that you want, will depend on how you initially apply your foundation with the BlendUp. I tend to opt for a full coverage so I dot the foundation on my face, turn this onto the first setting then blend away. It’s so easy to do because you literally just glide the brush across your skin and it blends it all in for you. You don’t need to dab, put any pressure onto the brush or anything like that. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
If you want a light-medium coverage then you can put the foundation on the brush head directly or on the back of your hand. I personally don’t like this because I panic that the product will get vibrated around and go everywhere. So if I do want a lighter coverage, I just don’t put as many foundation dots on my face.
This has cut down my application time by half. No more do I need to dab away at my face or blend my makeup out for an hour (this is an exaggeration). But yeah, probably takes me a minute or two at the most to apply foundation with the BlendUp brush.
Did I mention that this leaves your face streak and clog free?
This is the biggest pet peeve I have with foundation and applicators. I hate it when it happens because I just feel like a douche when it does. But let’s be honest, it happens to all of us at some point. Well, I’m proud to report that I have tried 10 different foundations with this brush now. This ranges from from high street to high end. From Barry M to Fenty Beauty. I’ve not experienced a single streak or clog yet!
All the BlendUp brush heads have anti-bacterial protection with Biomaster installed into them. This prevents the growth of bacteria by up to 99.9%. This definitely puts my mind at ease as I did wonder this when I first received the product. So you can use this happily knowing that your face and brush is protected. Please, make sure you clean this on a regular basis still though!
The BlendUp brush also does over 200 movements per second.
Seriously, how cool is that? Your skin is being stimulated as you make it look glam. Can it really get any better than that?
This is on the pricier side and comes in at a whopping £70 but it is worth the investment in my opinion. It comes fully charged, with a USB charger, one year warranty, a Smooth Blend Brush Head and of course the makeup brush. To be honest, this would be a perfect gift for someone – especially with Christmas coming up.
There’s a range of brush heads too.
So, you get the Smooth Blend Brush Head with the brush. There’s also the options online of two other brush heads – BuffBlend and FeatherBlend. I can imagine FeatherBlend being incredible to use with the second setting. BuffBlend I bet would work wonders on the first setting.
There’s currently two colours available – white with rose gold and black with rose gold. Both equally as pretty as the other.
I did plan to have photos with my b-e-a-u-t-ifullll face in this post but my beauty room aka storage room is not very blog friendly at the moment… I will definitely update this post with more photos when I can actually get into my room! *sobs*
So, if you want to treat someone this Christmas, to something a little bit extra and special, I definitely recommend this beauty. I am in love with mine and this is the perfect beauty applicator. Or… if you’re like me and just like treating yo self, then by all means… TREAT YO SELF!
