It’s THAT time of the year again, where a lot of bloggers will take part in what we call ‘blogmas’. Is there a better way to really get into the festive spirit than blogging about Christmas for 25 days straight?!
I did Blogmas for the first time last year. It was a struggle, not gonna lie. If you’re not already aware – I’m an events and marketing manager. Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations across the globe so of course, we have an event for it at work. This means, I have to work every. single. day. In the run up to 25th December. It’s absolutely exhausting, it’s 12 hour days at least sometimes. We roughly see about 2,500 people in the space of 24 days which for a tourist attraction/small business in a seaside town in December… that’s a lot of people for us.
Not only was it a struggle due to the nature of my work place – but providing the content too was tough. So many people do blogmas, you don’t want to be the ‘same’ and you don’t want to feel repetitive. I don’t want this to sound bad, but when there’s a lot of a post, it can become saturated and not as interesting to read. I do know I’m not on my own when I say this though! But of course, there’s only so much varied Christmas content available so there is bound to be some cross overs and post repeats. Ah well!
So why are you putting yourself through added stress?
Well, to be honest with you – I like a challenge. This year, I’ve felt like I’ve ‘flopped’ in my blog and I want to push myself. I want to prove to myself that I can do it. Plus, I love Christmas. I’ve been playing Christmas songs for about 3 weeks already! #NoRegrets
Not only that, but in theory – my blogmas content SHOULD be a bit different to last year. The biggest reason being that I’m in my own house – which I have been in for a whole year next month! *gasps* Not only that but I’m ‘trying’ to think out the box a bit, whether I will or whether I’ll stick to my safe comfort zone type posts, we’ll have to see. I did start my ‘Christmas content’ early though as I’ve been raving about the Nakd Christmas Pud bars!
What can you expect to see over Blogmas?
The usual gift guide posts because let’s be real – they’re bloody damn useful sometimes!
Festive makeup looks, how we’ve decorated our house for Christmas, how do I feel about having my first Christmas away from home, winter beauty must haves and so much more!
This post I am going to keep short and sweet, I’m basically setting myself up and I am ready for the challenge *daydreams of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s amazing film ‘The Challenge’* so I hope you’ll join me on the blogmas journey and that you’ll enjoy my posts!
So, I hope you enjoy reading over the next month, why not check out a post from last year? Are you taking part in Blogmas? Let me know in the comments below!k
