Maybe you’re off shopping. Maybe you’re off for a bottomless brunch with your gals or maybe you have ‘date night’ but in the day time or a Christmas lunch. When you have a ‘day event’ it’s kinda hard to know how to do your makeup. You don’t want to seem over the top but you want to make it look like you’ve made the effort. Where do we draw the line?!
Hopefully, this little makeup look will give you some inspo!
For the primer, I opted for the NYX Cosmetics Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer which is so good and is only £10.50. I love this primer because it’s super soft, the primer really evens out my skin and fills all my pores (especially around my nose area) and disguises my lil’ lines on my forehead pretty well. This also holds my makeup in place ALL day so it was a no brainer really. Perfect if you’re out and about with daytime celebrations!
The foundation of course, has to be Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation. I’m not even sorry about this. It’s so damn good, I wear this whenever I can – for nights out, day trips, you name it. The only time I don’t really wear this is for work because y’know… work. The coverage for this is buildable so you can go light, medium or full, depending on your plans!
For my eyeshadow,
I decided to make a change and reach for my Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette – The Golden Goddess. This was the first Charlotte Tilbury product I ever owned and I loved it to begin with, then I kinda left it tucked away in my draws. It wasn’t until I was doing a mini clear out that my love for this rekindled. Literally, I’ve probably used it a handful of times, bad I know. Gold is the perfect shade for the day time (as recommended to me by Beth from WhatSheDid who FYI is a proper babe and one of my best gal pals). She’s right. I opted for the gold and brown smoky look but I didn’t use intense dark browns to keep it more ‘daytime’.
I decided to be oh so fancy and went for some falsies. The Ardell Demi Wispies* are from We Love Lashes (falseyelashes.co.uk). They are a firm favourite amongst many in the blogging community and it’s not hard to see why. These create such a gorgeous, natural look. They’re super comfy to wear too, easy to apply and I didn’t even need to cut them down to size! The band is invisible too which I really like, it makes it a look a lot more natural. I like wearing eyeliner though so I applied just a very thin line of the NYX liquid eyeliner just to put my mind at ease. But my god, the wispies are something else I tell you.
I’m definitely going to get some more and have a constant supply of them. These are the best lashes I’ve ever used. I can see why people love them so much. The single pack of the Ardell Demi Wispies are just £4.49 from False Lashes – a proper bargain if you ask me!
Of course, the brows has to be Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow pomade. Is there any other brow product for me? I think not.
If you want a more subtle glow for your highlight, Fenty Beauty once more, has got your back. The Killerwatt Duo in Fire Crystal and Lightning Dust is perfect for this time of the year and like most of the Fenty range, it’s buildable coverage. So like I said, if you want a subtle glow, then this is perfect for you. I can’t fault this highlighter!
For bronzer and blusher, I’m using the Too Faced Just Peachy palette. This smells so bloody good so that is one of the main reasons why I’ve chosen this. But of course, the main reason being is that it creates that gorgeous, natural look you want. The blush isn’t TOO pink and the bronzer isn’t one that’ll make me look like I’ve lobbed mud on my face.
Of course, if you want to wear lipstick you can do but at the moment, I can’t due to a shitty coldsore *sobs*.
Here’s the finished look!
This, I want to rock every day in between Christmas and New Year because 1. I actually get to wear makeup because I’m not working and 2. Because I can! I’m super happy with how this look turned out. If you want something similar or perhaps you’re going from your desk straight to the work Christmas party, just amp up the eyeshadow, make the outer corners more intense and BLEND girl, blend. Then you’re good to go! Again, lipstick is optional but a gorgeous red would look amazing with this look!
