Gone are the days of those wild night outs, I can’t deal with stupid hangovers any more. I’m also over going ‘out, out’ – it’s just too much effort isn’t it?. But also, the fact that I’m pregnant… There’s nothing more I want in the world than loads of cosy nights in with Kayne. Let’s be honest, who knows if I’ll get many of those nights once little one arrives?! Alongside the preparation of his arrival, we’re also revamping as much of the house as possible and we’re after a new TV for both the bedroom and living room. We know a few people who have the 4k TVs and the screen quality is incredible. The 4k LED TV Panasonic TVs look amazing and definitely ones for us to consider. We’re not a fan of watching films and series on our laptops so any of these would be perfect for us.
Honestly, my favourite sort of nights in are when you’re all wrapped up, cuddled up to your significant other (or your furbabies, either work pretty well), you have one of your favourite films on and the rain is beating against the window. It’s absolute bliss to me.
Other essentials for the perfect cosy night include your fave takeout.
Currently, I am head over heels in love with Dominos. Whilst this isn’t great for my bank balance *sobs* but Dominos has been one of my consistent cravings in this pregnancy so I kinda have to get it, right? If there’s one good thing about Dominos, is that whilst they have their usual Two for Two Tuesdays, they also have ‘BOGOFF’ offers where you get buy one, get one free if you collect your order from the store! Thankfully, our nearest Dominos is less than a 5 minute drive away so we find ourselves doing this when we’re having a cosy night.
Comfy clothes are an absolute must, of course. Pjs, fluffy socks and a dressing gown. Or wrapped up in your blankets and quilt. Either makes a perfect combo for ultimate cosiness. I’m on the hunt for some really comfy and cute maternity pjs so if anyone has any recommendations – hit me up!
Snacks are always essential.
Sweets, crisps, biscuits, chocolate – whatever takes your fancy. With my current cravings, it has to be alllll the sour sweets and the white and green dummies from Haribo Tangfastics. My mouth is drooling at the thought, annoyingly I don’t even have any in the house *sobs*. Oh and of course, toffee popcorn. I’ve only been banging on about popcorn to everyone and anyone who will listen to me.
CANDLES! In my eyes, you can never own too many candles and what better way to add to the cosiness level than with a couple of candles? My favourites include Bath and Body Works Marshmallow Fireside and Maple and Whisky Candle Co – Mickey Waffles. Together, these two create such a warm, homey scent. Candles aren’t for everyone and that’s cool, I must admit – whilst I massively love candles, I’m also terrified of the flame… Weird I know.
Here’s a really cringey photo of me smiling (I’m not very good in front of the camera haha and my teeth are NOT this yellow… Lord – I need to figure out editing)
The most obvious and final part of a cosy night in is of course – what you watch!
Whilst it may take us a good 30 minutes to choose a film, we always pick a goodun! Kayne and I take it in turns in choosing the film because you gotta keep it fair right? Sometimes, there are some erm… *heated discussions* on who’s turn it is and whether it’s a good idea to put Saving Private Ryan on for the 100th time (Kayne’s choice because it’s his all time fave film). Thank God we have a NowTV stick to offer us a massive range of films – it’s a definite game changer! This reminds me, it’s my turn to choose a film next, mwuhahaha.
And that’s what makes the perfect cosy night in!
As you can tell, I like to go all out with cosy nights. Especially since the nights are drawing in and as I said at the start, who knows how much time we’ll have for cosy nights once little bubba comes along. Whilst I’m not a fan in general of autumn/winter (because ugh cold), I must admit that the cosy nights are something I massively look forward to and you can’t really do cosy in the summer can you? Can I also just say a huge thank you to Kayne to actually took the photos of me because my camera doesn’t have Wifi/bluetooth/clicker, I’m too pregnant already to be running to a timer and trying to get in position on the bed safely so I think he’s done pretty well considering he’s never taken photos before!
