It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Tarte Cosmetics, I absolutely adore the brand. During the festive period, they had a sale and I may or may not have gone a little overboard…
In my defence, it was a sale AND free international shipping over $30. The first time I ordered, one of the products was out of stock but came back into stock the following day (yay). I just had to make another order and following my brilliant ‘treat yo self’ mind set… There was inevitable damage to my bank account. This should hopefully be enough to feed my Tarte addiction for a few months.
Now, I hope you’re ready for a long-ass post. You might want to go grab a drink and a sweet treat or three.
I could browse the Tarte Cosmetics website for hours, I’m yet to come across a product that I haven’t liked. So, it was of course – very hard to work out what to order from their website because there’s so much I love but yet still so much I need to try. It was a case of – do I go with my ‘comfort zone’ and just reorder items I have already but running low on or branch out and try different things?
I already own a few products from Tarte such as the Shape Tape concealer (best concealer ever),Lights Camera Lashes mascara, Tartelette in Bloom and the Skin Twinkle Highlighting Palette Vol. II so, my collection has increased a shit tonne in a short space of time.
After much umming and aahing, I finally made my decision!
So, this I technically got for Christmas from Kayne but since it’s a recent Tarte addition – I’m going with it. But, I have wanted the Limited Edition Tartiest Trove Collectors Set for such a long time, I was absolutely buzzing to open this on Christmas Day. What I love about this is just how much you get for your money. It was £46 and for that you get 24 Amazonian Clay eyeshadows, blush, highlight and bronzer, then three minis of the Tartiest lash paint mascara (which is bloody amazing), Tartiest sex kitten eyeliner and Tartiest glossy lip paint. So, it’s definitely value for money.
If they bring this out again later in 2018 – I really recommend you get this beauty. The eyeshadows are truly stunning with a gorgeous mix of matte and metallics. You can go from daytime to nighttime so easily thanks to the trove collectors set. Of course, not to leave out the blush, highlight and bronze trio. These shades are so ‘me’ and the highlight couldn’t be anymore perfect if it tried. I just love the fact that most of your makeup will be in this set.
Of course, I had to order a highlighter of some sort,
because my all time favourite Skin Twinkle Highlight Palette Vol. II has hit pan. Tarte are one of my favourite brands for highlighters and since I wear Skin Twinkle on a daily basis, I was keen to try their other highlighters. The Limited Edition Goddess Glow Highlighter just so happened to be in the sale. It was still quite pricey for a single highlighter, coming in at £21 so I was hoping this would be worth my time.
When it arrived, I was so surprised by how big it was. I know the website says XL compact but many brands say something will be large then when it arrives its the size of rabbit droppings… So it’s a winner already with the size. It’s a gorgeous golden champagne with the most beautiful design (I was so sad the first time I used it because I didn’t want to ruin the design! It is wonderfully pigmented and creates the most gorgeous shimmer. It’s not too in your face which I quite like and you can build on it if you want. This is also a vegan friendly product by Tarte so if you’re vegan – I definitely recommend checking this out before it goes out of stock!
The #naturalartistry faves color collection is perfect if you want to sample the Tartiest range.
The great thing about this set is that is has the favourite best selling products from the Tartiest range – and they’re all super cute travel sizes so you can even take it away with you or perfect if you’re on the go. In this set you get a highlight and contour kit, a travel size of the Tartiest mascara and a Tartiest lip paint.
In the Tartiest Pro Glow To Go, you get the shades ‘Gleam, Burst and Chisel’. The highlighters, are of course my go-to golden champagne shades and they’re incredibly pigmented. Gleam is more of a mauve/pale gold whereas Burst is definitely the more ‘in your face’ golden champagne. Chisel is a perfect contour shade for me – it’s not too dark and not too pale. It makes such a perfect contour that makes me look naturally ‘chiselled’ HA- geddit? The lip paint is a beautiful rosy nude in the shade ‘exposed’. It’s an ideal shade if you want to go for the au natural or ‘no makeup makeup look’. I love this shade and I need to purchase a full sized version of this because at the minute, I’m too scared to use exposed on a regular basis because I don’t want it to run out! The Tartiest lash paint mascara is absolutely amazing. I didn’t know how it would compare to my bae Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara but holy moly. It’s incredible. It makes my lashes look so full and voluminous and SO fricking long. A full size purchase is essential.
I’ve been so eager to try Tarte Cosmetics skincare for such a long time.
So what better way to try it than with the the Tarte Starters Skin & Color Set? God, it feels and looks so weird typing colour the american way… Anyway, this set is also a limited edition. So, if you miss out but it comes back into stock for any reason then I really recommend it! You get so much for your money and I paid £22 for this in the sale (£33 full price) and I’m so happy with what’s inside. It’s a travel set which is so ideal to sample a range of products and includes a Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, Drink of H2o Hydrating Boost Moisturiser, Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturiser, Marajuca C-Brighter Eye Treatment, Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara AND the Amazonian Clay blush in Monarch.
As you can see, you get quite a lot to try! The Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturiser will be perfect for S/S as it creates such a subtle glow and will work fab as a base or on its own. It’s not sticky, it doesn’t smell. I can’t fault it. The Drink of h2o Hydrating Boost Moisturiser is absolutely incredible and a full size purchase of this is ESSENTIAL for me, I heard so many great things about it and I wasn’t left disappointed. Let me tell ya. My skin feels so soft, glowy and firm after using this. All the while my skin feels super hydrated and it smells so nice – really citrusy which is right up my street!
The Cleansing gel is one product I was super keen to try and at first I was a bit unsure of it.
But, I think that’s down to the fact that it’s a gel and I’ve never experienced gel before. Once I got my head around the whole gel idea and got used to it, I grew to love it really quick. My skin feels so refreshed after using it. Another product I need to get the full sized version of. The mascara, I’ve only used a couple times but what I have tried, I’m super impressed with. The wear time is really good and it makes my lashes look full yet natural. If you prefer a more ‘natural’ look for your lashes, this is the one I would recommend out of the Tarte mascaras I’ve tried. The Amazonian Clay blush is a gorgeous yet subtle apricot blush that gives you a natural rosy glow. This is my first experience with Tarte blush and I’m impressed so far!
Finally, the last thing in this set is the Marajuca C-Brighters Eye Treatment. I was quite interested by this as I heard good things. It claims to hydrate, brightens and fight against signs of age. I’ve had a couple weeks to try this now and all I’m gonna say is where the hell was this when I was doing my Santa Specials event at work? It’s so moisturising and as you all know, I suffer terribly with dark circles but my eyes instantly feel brighter and not as dark and meh. This is another product I’ll definitely be getting a full sized version of.
This product is the whole reason why I made a second order…
The Blush Bazaar palette was out of stock when I made my first order on boxing day. It just so happened that I was doing another lil’ browse on the Tarte site the following day and voila! Blush Bazaar was back in stock so I HAD to get it. It was fate right? It was reduced in the sale to £19!! I couldn’t believe my luck, considering it’s usually 40ish quid, it was an absolute bargain. In this beauty, you get 8 blushers and 2 highlighters. The thing I love about these is that you can build on them. So, you can go super dramatic or really subtle and anywhere in between. There’s a lovely mixture of warm and cool blush tones which I also love and they look beautiful on. Another product that will be great for when you’re on the go or going away! There’s a blush to suit every mood and occasion. Not forgetting the two gorgeous highlighters which will make you pop I swear. Plus, it’s so compact, it will not make a dent in your travel luggage weight!
Soz guys, I just realised that as I type this is 11.45pm on a Friday night, that the photos of the swatches for most of these products- I’ve lost the frickin’ SD card for. I WILL update this ASAP with swatches when my new SD card arrives.
Finally, the last thing I got from Tarte was the Pout Pleasures Lip Set!
This was another huge bargain, it was reduced to just £13!! I got super lucky in these sales I tell ya. Full priced, this is £37 so it’s one hell of a difference. Pout Pleasures was another limited edition item so if you want them, snap them up fast before they go. Another reason why this was such a bargain in the sale – you get five full sized lippie lingerie. Did I mention? These are also vegan friendly! They are definitely on the pink/berry spectrum of lipsticks. But, these shades are so ideal for any time of the year. All five shades: delight, desire, enticing, lacy and enchanting are beautiful and I know they are gonna get a lot of loving from me. Nothing better than a set where you’re going to use every single product!
They’re super creamy and velvety when you apply them. I was surprised by how pigmented these actually as in their description on the Tarte website, they call them tints. So, I was already impressed. They are in no way drying on my lips and the colours just look stunning. I love that they’re a matte finish but they don’t seem to lose that creaminess from when you first apply them!
As you can see, I got A LOT from Tarte over the festive season.
Theres not a single regret from me (of course). Gotta treat yo self haven’t you? Every product I’ve tried recently by Tarte, I’ve loved. They are definitely one of my all time favourite brands. Maybe it’s a good idea for them to remain the US – imagine how much my bank account would suffer if they came to the UK… For anyone wanting to try Tarte, I definitely recommend that you get their gift sets/limited edition sets because they are such good value for money. Plus, you can try out such a vast range of their products, it can give you a good feel for what sorta products you’re into by them. If anyone wants me to do more in depth posts on any particular set/products, then let me know!
