Colourpop Cosmetics is another brand that I absolutely love. Maybe, I should move to America since my favourite brands are based there. My Colourpop Cosmetics collection has grown dramatically over the past year or so, but with good reason…
I heard some great things about this then little company based in LA, how they were cruelty free, offered vegan products, pretty cheap (minus those blasted customs fees) and amazing quality. They keep launching so many amazing products, it’s pretty hard to resist. From their pressed palettes to collabs, they’re pulling out all the stops and damn, it’s working! They’re slaying the beauty world right now. The only thing I don’t like about Colourpop is the hefty customs that comes with it. That sucks. I wish that Colourpop would do the same as Tarte Cosmetics and include it all in their taxes etc. We can keep hoping though.
This post is going to be longgggggg too, so you might wanna grab yourself a sweet treat or three and a lil’ drink of something.
As I said, my Colourpop collection has GROWN in size…
After a lot of digging and blog post reading, I took the plunge. It started off with a little order of their super shock shadows. Then another order – more super shock shadows, a couple lipsticks and a highlighter. Then another order and another and another… You get the picture! I had to hide ALOT of these orders from Kayne but a gals gotta treat her self, right?
I have so many super shock eyeshadows, I kinda went a bit mad on ordering them before the pressed palettes came out. What I love about the super shock shadows is just the sheer quality and pigment. The only niggle with these is that it can sometimes be hard to use with a brush. I’ve found it’s best to use a flat brush to apply these generally. But, once they’re on your lids, you can easily use a fluffy brush to blend it out. The reason I use a flat brush to apply is because of the weird formula to them. If you’ve ever used one of these shadows, you’ll get what I mean.
The formula is quite wet and has the weirdest feel to it. These are a great way of testing the waters with Colourpop shadows and trying out a range of shades. My all time favourite shades have to be: Weenie, Mittens, Porter, Moonwalk, So Quiche, Hanky Panky (I love the name of this one), Paradox, Elixir, Jinxie and Seeker. These are $5.00 each, you can get them in sets or individuals. I do have a few sets but they’re no longer available for purchase.

Top to bottom: Mittens, Head Rush, Seeker, Jinxie, Stereo, Moonwalk, Porter, By My Side, Hanky Panky and Elixir
We all know how much I love lipsticks,
so it was inevitable that I was bound to rack up a fair few lip products wasn’t it? A lot of Colourpop lipsticks I actually got as part of their gift sets that you can buy. They work out at such good value for money that it’s super hard to resist. There are so many different lipsticks available: Lux Lipstick, Ultra Matte, Ultra Satin, Ultra Glossy, Ultra Blotted, Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencil, to name but a few.
I’m yet to get my hands on the Ultra Blotted and Lux Lipsticks!
I didn’t think I would like the Satin lip products at all but I was so shocked. I absolutely love them. The formula is really comfortable to wear and my lips never feel like they’re dry and the formula doesn’t go flakey. Again, the pigment is just incredible, the applicator is super fine, it’s not one of the horribly fluffy applicators – so it creates a nice, even and easy application. The set that converted me to the Ultra Satin hype was the Hidden Agenda bundle – it has three shades: Reign, Mystic and Stud.
I also love the Ultra Matte lips but I do find that these after they’ve been opened for x amount of time, the colour tends to go a bit off? I guess is the way to describe it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the ultra matte lips but make sure you get a shade you know you’re going to get loads of use out of. Plus, some shades I’ve had in the past, I’ve found to be really drying. My current ones are fab though! Annoyingly, I can’t seem to get them anymore so I’m guessing they’ve been discontinued *sobs*. But, I do love Kapow. It’s a taupe grey when it’s on me and just so different from any other shade I own.
In general, I’m not a fan of lip gloss
and I only own one of their ultra gloss lip products. It came as part of a set I got for Christmas. It’s alright, it does the job but I just hate that sticky feeling you get with lip gloss. Honestly, it makes me cringe, my body is shuddering at the thought as I type this. It’s nothing against the actual product, I’ve heard many people rave about the ultra gloss range but I’m just not a fan of lip gloss and can’t think of anything worse to wear! Don’t hate me for this opinion pls.
Lippie Stix are just truly incredible.
I absolutely adore the lippie stix range. These, alongside the Ultra Satin lipsticks are by far my fave lip products from Colourpop. The Lippie Stix are just incredibly comfortable to wear, they apply like an absolute dream because of the formula. It’s a creamy, hydrating formula that even with the Matte X or Matte finish, doesn’t look or feel dry on the lips. Lippie Stix contains shea butter, avocado, mango and Vitamin E so it’s clear to see why it’s so hydrating and moisturising on the lips. The pigments in Lippie Stix are just amazing too, I’ve not found one I don’t like yet. The sets like ‘Over Brunch‘ are a fab way to try different shades and finishes of Lippe Stix because you get to try 6 of them and they’re always a good value for money. I am soooo glad I have Over Brunch because it has some of my fave shades in – Cami, Payton and Mirror Mirror. Other shades I totally recommend are Lumiere (classic pink nude), Tootsi and Baewatch.

Top to bottom: Grunge, Lumiere, Mirror Mirror, Tootsi, Flawless, Parker, Faded, Cami, Payton, Rooftop and Baewatch
At $5.50 for a Lippie Stix, you can’t go wrong really.
They offer all kinds of different shades, from your typical pink and brown nudes, to the bright oranges, classic reds and the deep berry and wine shades. Literally, everything you can think of. I only own five of the lippie stix pencils that you can also purchase. Purely for the fact that I don’t think you necessarily need to have the lip pencil because the lippie stix are amazing anyway, they don’t bleed or anything like that. So they’re good to have, but not essential to me.
Colourpop Cosmetics also have a lot of face products on offer,
but I haven’t fully tried them all out. From what I have tried, I really love their highlighters and concealer. Every time I’m close to hitting pan on a highlighter, you can bet your boots I’ll reorder the exact same one rather than trying a different shade. I have got my eyes on Flexitarian admittedly. But, every time I make an order it’s sold out so maybe it’s not meant to be?
Anyway, I’ve probably reordered Lunch Money and Stole the Show about 7 or 8 times now.
Those two shades are my perfect highlight and right up my street. Y’know those golden, champagne shades I always bang on about? They’re the ones *drools*. I also love Smoke N Whistles which is quite pink on first appearance but it’s definitely a muted pink with pearlescent tone to it, which I find proper nice. The other highlighter I have is Wisp which I think, is a little bit too dark for me unless I have a tan. So this is defo more of a summer highlighter.
Again, the single highlighters have that same weird, wet formula that the super shock single shadows have. They work wonderfully though and you can go super subtle or super intense. Depends on what kinda glow you want. The highlighters are just $8.00 and I am currently lusting over the loose highlighters they have, they look GORGEOUS!
The concealers were something I wanted to try as soon as they launched.
Purely because I love me a good concealer and it was being compared to the likes of Tarte’s Shape Tape (before Makeup Revolution’s dupe came on the scene). So of course, since Shape Tape is my all time fave concealer, I had to just get my hands on the Colourpop No Filter concealer. My shade is Fair 5 and is currently the lightest shade available. I would give it a 5 outta 5 but it oxidises pretty badly. Like, it’s alright once I’ve blended it in with my trust Beauty Blender but the oxidising is just a bit annoying. Thankfully, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg at just $6.00 so, if you don’t get on with it, you haven’t lost out on a lot of money. I do really like No Filter though, it’s a matte, full coverage and it definitely hides my dark circles, so I can live with the oxidising.
And onto some of my all time fave palettes,
I heard nothing but good things about the pressed palettes and everyone was just raving about the Yes, Please! Palette and it looked like a warm toned lovers dream. After very little persuasion from the group chat and my good ol’ treat yo self mentality, Yes, Please! soon became mine… Oops!
Yes, Please! Is $16.00 and you get 12 pan shadows which include a mix of gorgeous mattes, metallics, neutral and bold shades. With this palette, you can create so many amazing looks and is probably my most reached for palette at the moment. You can go for the ever popular au natural look just to give your eyes a bit of colour or you can go bold and dramatic. This palette is your oyster. Like I said, a warm-toned lovers dream. It’s really not hard to see why this is one of their best selling products. I don’t actually have a set favourite shade because I LOVE them all so much.
Now, I was a hugeee fan of My Little Pony when I was younger,
so when I saw the Colourpop x My Little Pony collab I HAD to get one or two things. Thanks to my Mum, who is probably one of the biggest enablers when it comes to Colourpop (she is forever sending me screenshots of their latest releases, sales and just trying to tempt me). I wonder where I get my treat yo self mentality from?
Anyway…. There’s also 12 shades in this palette and is also $16.00. The shades are aptly named after the My Little Pony gang. My favourite shades have to be Minty, Firefly, Snuzzle, Skydancer, Applejack and Blossom. Whilst the palette itself is beautiful, I don’t reach for it that often and I’m kinda pissed with myself about it. Don’t get me wrong, the pigments are incredible like always, barring a couple shades where you have to build up just a teeny bit and you can create some beautiful looks.
You Had Me At Hello…
Just makes me sing the Beyonce song. Every. Damn. Time. This palette I was so excited to receive. My parents very kindly got me this for Christmas and I’m so grateful. I had my eyes on it for quite some time because these shades are right up my street. This alongside Yes, Please! Are my absolute fave. The shades in this give me Modern Renaissance and Naked Heat vibes combined. Being a lover of purples, browns and pinks, it’s perfect for me.
This is $18.00 so it is slightly more than other pressed palettes but I think that’s because you get a mirror included with this palette. You Had Me At Hello includes a perfect balance of 6 mattes and 6 metallics. With this palette you can create subtle day time/desk looks and easily mould them into an eye popping night time glamour couture. I feel like I’m repeating myself every time but this palette is incredibly pigmented and there’s basically zero fall out. My favourite shades are: Candygram, Winning Ticket, FBO, Look-See, Fool’s Rush and DTR.
We’re getting there, I did warn you all that this would be a long ass post!
Another palette I had my eyes on that my parents blessed me with was Element of Surprise. I quite like this palette because it literally is the ‘element of surprise’ because it’s such a versatile palette. It doesn’t have one set colour scheme like their other pressed palettes. But instead, ranges from golds, to browns, to reds, to purples, corals, oranges and even the ‘in your face’ pink. It’s a palette full of many things and surprises. I think that’s why I love it so much because you can make whatever look you want. The only niggle I do have with this palette is that just a couple of the metallics aren’t as pigmented as I hoped they’d be so they do require a little bit of work.
This palette just gives me major New York City vibes, purely because of the name.
Golden State of Mind is just… wow. I think it reminds me of NYC so much because of the song ‘Empire State of Mind’ and because it’s a palette of just glitter/metallics and makes me think about the lights in the ‘City that never sleeps’. I’m probably going waaaaay into that but I’m rolling with it. This is currently going for a bargain price of just $20.00 instead of $26.00 and you get a whopping 15 shades. Golden State of Mind’s colour scheme is an array of pinks, yellows, silvers and neutral tones. It’s perfect for those who love a glitz and glam eye look.
I’m pretty sure that when I swatched this for the first time, I may or may not have cried because of how b-e-a-u-tfiullllll this was when I swatched (even more beautiful than how it looks in the palette, let me tell ya).
The good thing about this palette is that you can use some of these shades as a highlighter. Golden Egg, Pay the Piper and GRLFRND are the shades I’ve tried it with. I wouldn’t dare dry it with any other shades as I’m super pale, it just wouldn’t work for me. So obviously, this is dependent on your skin tone. All in all, my fave shades from this palette definitely are Golden Egg, Piper, Zero Clue, Watch Out, Uptight, Mind Tricks, Heads or Tales and Tinker Time.
And finally, we have the cutest brushes,
were also part of the Colourpop x My Little Pony collab and I just had to get them. They’re so cute – you guys know I’m a massive lover of pink as it is. So pair in the pink with My Little Pony – we’re onto a winner. I’ve never tried Colourpop brushes so I was really eager to see how I would get on with these. There are five brushes in this set: angled face brush, fan brush, shader brush, tapered blending brush and an angled eye brush. These brushes are so soft and there’s no bristle fallout which is obviously amaaazing. They make blending so easy, I love every single one. The brushes are travel sized too and they’re perfect to pop in your bag. They come in at $22.00 and are limited edition so when they’re gone, they’re gone so don’t miss out!
I did say it would be a long one! Oops…
But as you can see, I am a massive fan of Colourpop Cosmetics. I love everything about the brand. The affordability, the product quality, they’re cruelty free, they offer vegan friendly products and well, just everything. I’m feeling another order coming on very soon because I need me a Colourpop fix. That’s for sure. I can live with that stupid custom fee, my love for Colourpop is too strong. There’s still so many products I want to try from them!
