I am always on the hunt for the next best beauty product. Whether it’s a brand I already adore or a brand I’ve never tried before. Mascara, foundation, skincare, lipsticks, nail polish – you name it. I want to try it. That’s the problem when you have an erm… ‘passion’, for beauty. By passion, I mean love affair/addiction/obsession/I want all the beauty in the world, that kinda passion. You feel me?
There’s so many amazing products out there, it’s hard to resist trying to get your hands on them all. Most of the time, of course, I fail in resisting, my whole treat yo self logic BUT sometimes I’m successful. Recently, I’ve been trying A LOT of new beauty products that I’m so eager to talk about. I’m going to split them up into a series of posts, otherwise we’d be here all day.
As you all probably know, I’ve recently discovered Touch in Sol – the innovative K beauty brand and I very quickly fell in love with them…
Mascara plays a huge part in my makeup routine and I cannot physically leave the house without it. So, I’m always looking for a good mascara and the Touch in Sol Paper Pusher Stretch Fiber Lengthening Mascara* fits the bill. I’ve never tried fiber mascara until now so I was excited and scared to try this. At first, I was worried I wasn’t using it right because it didn’t seem to do much to my lashes. As I said, I’ve never tried fiber mascara and the wand is much different to what I’m used too. Anyway, I persisted and once I got the hang of it, I quickly grew to love it.
I’ve worn this mascara every day for the last 1-2 weeks and it makes my lashes so long and full but not in a tacky spider leg/clumpy way. The Paper Pusher mascara is also tear proof, I can vouch for that. I was not left looking like a panda, thank God. This is £18 from Cult Beauty.
It’s another beauty from Touch in Sol,
the Go Extreme High Definition Lip Lacquer in Azalea* is a gorgeous vibrant pink. This colour always reminds me of Nikki from Love, Laughs, Lipstick cos she looks fit asf in vibrant pink. When you apply this and once it’s dry, it does not budge. I had to really scrub to get this full off. I did some testing and you can build up the colour, so if you just want a natural, glossy tint, then it can be achieved with this lip lacquer. But, if you want a more bold, in your face kinda look, then that can also be done!
I found that after a while, the glossiness wore away into a sorta matte effect. Which, FYI I’m totally cool with because I love me a good matte. Like look how beautiful this looks on my lips?! I’m not one for glossy lips either but this one I could definitely see myself wearing on a regular basis. This comes in an array of pinks and reds, these will be perfect for S/S and I kinda need them all… It’s £14.50, also from Cult Beauty.
Frizz be gone!
Thanks to the American English Seaberry Dry Oil.* This stuff is going to be my holy grail over the coming months as we FINALLY approach Spring and Summer. I’m not about this A/W life, I tell ya. But, the only downside to the ‘warmer’ part of the year is that my hair gets that little bit frizzier than before. This year, I’ll get the last laugh thanks to the Seaberry Dry Oil. It’s designed to eliminate frizz and add shine to your hair. If you watch my Insta story – depending on how much attention you pay, you might have noticed that my hair is a hell of a lot more sleeker, shinier and zero frizz. It’s because of this beauty.
It’s super simple to use – just spray about 6 inches away from your hair and let the oil do the rest. It also makes my hair super soft and this stuff smells fricking amaaazing. American English get huge brownie points because 1. They don’t test on animals and 2. They’re vegan. I’ve already got a tonne of American English products on my ASOS wishlist. This is £25 but totally worth it, in my humble opinion.
I’ve always been curious about Verso Skincare.
I’ve heard it’s absolutely amazeballs and I was very kindly sent the Verso Travel Series* and some Verso Reviving Eye Masks*. So, the Travel series are relaunching for this year and they are SO ideal if you’re travelling (duh), if you’re going away for a night or you just wanna sample the products. In the travel series set you get a foaming cleanser, day cream and night cream with Retinol 8. I love every single one of these. After using these, my skin feels so hydrated, revitalised and just in general, fantastic. You don’t need to use a lot of product because it goes a long way.
With the cleanser, it creates a generous foam lather and recently, I’ve been using this with my Magnitone cleansing brush. After using the foaming cleanser, my skin feels super soft and fresh. The day cream is one of the best moisturisers I’ve tried. It contains Retinol 8 and is designed to ‘stimulate’ collagen and reduces the appearance of visible signs of ageing. Basically, I just need to use this every day for the rest of my life so that I can stay my beautiful, 23 year old looking self. The night cream hydrates your skin and as you all know – I am all about that hydration life. Again, this little beauty also has Retinol 8 so your skin is constantly getting that lil bit of TLC. Y’know what I’m gonna say right? TREAT YO SELF TO THE TRAVEL SERIES!
Now, let me tell you about the lil beauties that are the Verso Reviving Eye Masks*.
Seriously. These are the dogs bollocks to put it quite frankly. As you all know, I have terrible dark circles under my eyes and I constantly look haggard and tired. It’s actually one of the things about myself that proper gets me down. Going out the house without makeup on is near impossible for me, I lack a shit tonne of confidence as a result of my circles. However, these actually combat my dark circles and make them not so prominent. Every time I’ve used these eye masks so far, I’ve felt so much more ‘alive’ – I guess is the way to describe it – under my eyes. They make me feel so good about my circles and like I’ve slept for an eternity because it honestly minimises them so much. The transformation is ace.
They’re supposed to be good for lines and crows feet around your eyes too but *touch wood* I don’t get those at the minute so I can’t comment on that but I can vouch for how ‘alive’ they make me look!
Know Cosmetics are a brand I’ve never come across, and they’re quite interesting to be honest. I have four of their products and I’m about 70.30 on the brand. Let me tell you why.
The No Thin Lips* Lip plumper is great – it does work, but my god it burns to the point where my lips are screaming “GET THIS OFF ME PLEASE!” When I have persisted through the burning sensation, my lips do look a lot fuller which makes me very happy. Getting lip fillers is something I would consider to level out my top lip as I’m a lil bit self conscious of it. This seems to help fill out my top lip a bit. It’s just the burning sensations. I know most lip plumpers give you a burning sensation but I’ve never experienced one this intense before. After multiple uses, you get kinda used to the sensation but just a lil heads up for you all.
No Bare Brows* has a good concept to it, it’s a 4-in-1 brow fixer, it comes with a brush, sharpener, taming wax and the actual brow applicator. The only problem is – the colour is too light for me. I know that’s through no ones fault but it meant I couldn’t try the product out properly. The taming wax is great but obviously I can’t speak for the brow product. It seems to be an ashy sorta tone – so it would be great for blondes, red heads and lighter brunettes, just not for me *sobs*.
No Dark Shadows* I was so impressed with!
As I said, earlier – I have dark circles and this really helped cover them up and any blemishes I have, it’s been able to cover them no problem at all. It also definitely makes my under eyes a lot brighter which is perfect. I would say that this is a medium-full coverage – I’m leaning towards the more ‘full coverage’ end of the spectrum though as it’s quite thick. I’m surprised I like the applicator for this because I don’t have a good history with ‘twisty style’ concealers as they tend to burst everywhere on me. This hasn’t happened yet… *touches wood*. This is in the shade ‘wow’ and is the lightest shade they do and matches me perfectly. I can’t fault this product to be honest.
Finally, the No Bleeding Lips* is another one that I really like from Know Cosmetics.
I like that that’s a colourless lip liner – this is one that we should all carry around with us. Then you never have to worry about bringing out a matching liner to your choice of lipstick. This works so well too. I tried this with various brands such as Colourpop Cosmetics, Bare Minerals, Lime Crime and Bourjois. Not a single lipstick bled and No Bleeding Lips* definitely helped I think. It’s retractable too so you don’t have to worry about losing a tonne of product and it doesn’t wear down quickly like some lip liners tend to do. I’m so impressed with this one.
So, as you can all probably tell. I proper love Verso and I’m a little bit in love with most of the products I’ve just spoken about in this post. Touch in Sol are a rising brand that’s going to become a firm fave soon and a huge part of my daily beauty routine, I can tell. The same with both American English and Verso. Honestly, they’re ace, you should definitely all go treat yo selves to their products *hint hint*. I’ll keep persisting with Know Cosmetics as I said, I’m 70.30 on the products, it’s just a shame that the brow pencil is too light for me and the lip plumper burns so much!
Have you tried any of these brands? If so, what have you tried?! Do you like them? Let me know in the comments below! Make sure you check out my most recent post – it’s a huge Tarte Cosmetics haul!
