There’s no denying it, we all love a good sparkle for our lids don’t we? Although, I’m a matte gal at heart, I love me some glitter and shimmer. What makes the Touch in Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Duos so good anyway?
I recently won a competition through Touch in Sol, who are already one of my fave brands. If you don’t know about them, you soon will, believe me. I’m yet to come across a product from them that I don’t like and that defo ain’t happening any time soon! That’s for sure.
I won the full range of the Touch in Sol I was proper buzzing about winning, after receiving some real shitty news and having a bit of a shit time in general, it definitely perked me up. I’ve seen so many amaaaaazing things about the Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Duos, I was eager to get my hands on them and start playing around with them. I was even contemplating purchasing them from Cult Beauty, where they’re £20 each so I am buzzing that I won the full range and it definitely saved me some pennies.
At the moment, there are five shades.
Margaret, Eldora, Adelio, Lottie and Talia. What I love about these are just how convenient they are. You could use JUST the metallist duo on your lids and still create a beautiful, bold look. These are also super convenient sizes so you can just pop them in your bag, then off you go. One end is the metal liquid foil shadow and the other is obviously, glitter. Their curved doe foot applicators make for a super easy application and is packed full of product. These are full of pigment and you wouldn’t believe how little product you need to use, it goes such a long way. Each shade offers something totally different. Margaret is a beautiful burnt orange, Eldora is your bronze, Adelio is the most beautiful red you could imagine, Lottie is that perfect dusky-mauve and Talia is a beautiful champagne gold.
Each shade has something unique to offer.
Plus, their names are just the coolest. I literally imagine a little ol’ lady called Margaret rocking a burnt orange look. You can wear the foils on their own, or as part of a look. The glitter, you could put on top of any look, under your eyes if you want to be a bit more dramatic. OR, y’know if you just want to feel sassy asf, wear it on top of the liquid foils. What’s also good about these – the glitter isn’t messy. It doesn’t get in your eyes and kill like a lil bitch like some glitters do.
Admittedly, I haven’t worn THAT much makeup recently but when I’ve fancied feeling that lil’ bit extra, I’ve always reached for these. In terms of wearability, they don’t budge. At all. Once they’re on, they’re on let me tell you. So, of course – perfect for those nights out, mad sessions, long days out or if you just want to feel glam all the time.
The one shade I was most interested in was Talia, with it being a champagne gold, I thought I’d dabble in trying to make it a multi-use product as a highlighter.
We all know how much of a sucker I am for champagne gold tones. They’re my absolute favourite when it comes to highlighter. If you want to use Talia as a highlighter, then you definitely can. You’ve just got to be careful with how you apply it and do not use the glitter applicator, stick with the metal foil applicator. I found that dabbing it on ever so lightly with the applicator then blending out with my fingers GENTLY worked a charm. You don’t need much at all and you can create a gorgeous glow. Obviously, the more intense you want your highlight to be, the more product you should use. But, I wouldn’t recommend that because it is a foil and the pigment is quite strong anyway. Less is more with Talia if you’re wanting to use it as a highlighter too.
These sorta remind me of the Stila glitters you can get (which I also love). These would make a good alternative if you’re wanting to branch out to the world of glitter and foil shadows. You’ll get a little bit more for your money too with the Touch in Sol Metallist Duos. I definitely recommend these beauties. For the price, for how much product you get and just how damn good they are in terms of application, pigmentation and general wear… Touch in Sol can’t be beaten! All I’ll say is, be prepared for a whole lotta compliments and head turns when you wear these beauties.
All in all, I can’t fault these in the slightest. They’re truly incredible and you all totally need to grab yourself some and join the #MetallistFam cos guys, gotta treat yo self haven’t you?
