Yikes. Four months… And I’m over a week late publishing this post. #TopMumAward.
But yeah, our little Budster Rhymes is four months old! There’s literally not much to update you all on to be honest. Other than Buddy being the cutest little bear ever!
He’s just had his third lot of jabs.
Thank God that’s it now until he’s a year old. Man, that was horrible. Once again, I felt awkward asf when it came to the jabs so I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry… So obviously I chose to laugh. Not because I found amusement in Buddy’s pain and sadness but because if I didn’t laugh, then I 100% was going to cry. It was h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e. Buddy took it like a champ though. Thankfully, it didn’t affect his sleeping routine at all so he continued to sleep through the night, he was just incredibly grizzly and clingy for a couple days.
We’re starting our weaning journey!
Now I know they say, ideally 6 months and over if you can get to that point but Buddy is definitely ahead of himself and ready for it. He glares at us when we’re eating and tries to reach out for our food (even if he’s super far away) and more. So, we’ve just been trying him with some puree stuff for now that is suitable from 4+ months before I start giving him our meals and I’ve gotta say… He loves it! His favourite ‘puree’ so far is strawberry and apple.
He opens his mouth for the spoon already… We thought it was a fluke at first and maybe a one off but literally, 9 times out of 10 he will grab the spoon and put it in his mouth himself, WITH FOOD ON! So this is another reason why we know he’s ready to start exploring foods.
Whether we’ll do baby led weaning is something else entirely, I have a huge thing with mess, cats that will eat anything possible (I don’t want them to hurt Buddy obvs) choking and just… yeah – mess. It freaks me out so much. I think if anything, it’ll be a mixture of BLW and ‘traditional’ weaning. We’ve just purchased lots of weaning bits – spoons, bibs, baby tuppaware – you name it! So I really can’t wait to get our weaning journey properly started and give him lots of hearty home cooked meals!
He’s still rolling constantly.
I really don’t think it’ll be long before he’s crawling, he’s figured all the ‘logistics’ out, he just now needs to put it all together and stop moving around like a seal (or sea lion) does on land. It’s so cute and funny the way he moves around though, I’m definitely in no rush for him to be crawling any time soon!
OH and the dancing fruit are still a thing with Buddy… If you know, you know.
To be honest, that is literally about it. Buddy is just a dead cute, happy, smiley baby with a streak of his dad (hello grumpy, hangry side… Soz Kayne). I might do separate posts on our weaning journey, depends if I can ever be bothered to open my blog other than for updates on Buddy, we’ll see.
For now though, check out his three months update here!
