Six months, 26 weeks, 182 days, 4380 hours, 262800 minutes of Buddy being here. Wow. Half a year of Buddy.
Did I get this update up on time? Of course I didn’t. I think that’s mostly because there’s practically nothing to say, well there is… But there isn’t if that makes sense?
The weaning is well under way and I’m getting a bit more ballsy.
I’ve been pretty terrified of doing baby led weaning because of choking risks, allergic reactions and also the mess that comes with it. However, I know the benefits it can bring to your baby, so we’ve been trialling it and to be honest, Buddy has taken to BLW like a champ. He LOVES his grub.
We’ve pretty much got a routine cracked. In the morning he has porridge or some baby cereal with a couple oz of milk, then a bottle around 11. Sometimes, he will have lunch but if he’s not interested then I won’t push for it. Then another bottle at round 3.00pm and he will always have tea with us. If it’s something he really can’t have, then I give him some of the ‘components’ of what we’re having. For example, if we have enchiladas, we like ours quite spicy so we give him peppers, cheese, a bit of wrap and some sliced avocado. Then after that, we give him something sweet and at 7pm, he has his final bottle of the day and then it’s bedtime.

But, Buddy LOVES Flowers and my roast dinners/stew.
What’s flowers you ask? It’s basically just pasta, bacon, mushroom and onion all cooked together, then Philadelphia Garlic and Herbs, a splash of milk and whatever herbs you have in the cupboard. Throw it all together and voila – flowers! He goes mad for it and genuinely eats the whole lot that we give him. It’s so nice to see.
Then with stew and roast dinners, we tend to slow cook and freshly prepare everything so he’s buzzing with mash potato, mushed up peas (I’m scared to give him peas whole) a bit of meat, carrots and broccoli!

So yeah, the weaning is going so well and I’m really pleased about it. I’m glad that he seems to be enjoying it and actually eating the stuff we give him too.
Buddy went on his first swing ride!
Seems like only something small but it was his first time on the swing and he absolutely loved it. He smiled his head off the whole time and I really didn’t want to get him out but ‘big kids’ came onto the playground and I got a bit on edge. I’m definitely going to take him to the park again as soon as possible!

Buddy’s first tooth is well and truly through.
It’s been cutting through for a few weeks and just ‘cut’ the gum but now it’s really pushed itself up and my God, his one tooth smile is THE CUTEST *sobs*. There’s another 3 coming through but they’re literally just under the surface. I’m hoping they stay down for a while because teething is just horrible. Knowing our luck, he’ll get them at the same time.

I’ll try to get the 7 month update on time… But I can’t promise anything. Check out Buddy’s 5 month update here!
