I can’t believe this is technically our last monthly Buddy update. *sobs* Our little beauty is now eleven months old. The time has flown by. What has Buddy been up to since his ten month update?
This post has also reminded me that it means a month until he’s one and I have zero things arranged for his birthday. Whoops. I guess I best get my butt in gear?
Is Eleven Months Old
This post, of course is late up. But the reason behind this is that we’ve all been struck down with some illness. Since Kayne came back from his brothers stag do in January, colds and sickness bugs galore have been circulating our house. Poor little Buddy got the worst of it over the last couple weeks and he wasn’t himself at all, it was awful. Lots of sleepless nights, a lot of tears (me and Buddy), Calpol was our best mate and plenty of snuggles on the sofa with Cbeebies and Disney films. We’re finally out the storm, he just has a bit of a runny nose (he’s a proper snot monster) and a cough now.
Buddy is fully walking.
Now that Buddy is walking though, it’s a whole new ball in the court. I can’t keep up with him. One second he’s stood next to me, the next, he’s out the room and basically sprinting to the stairs. I say sprinting… Imagine the geese from The Aristocats when they walk, that is basically Buddy.
Not gonna lie, it makes me a little bit sad that Buddy is so ahead of himself.
It makes me feel like we don’t really have a baby, y’know? More like a toddler stuck in a baby’s body it feels. People always message me saying how they really wish their baby was like Buddy and my response is always the same. I wish Buddy was more like a baby and that every baby does things in their own time. Don’t get me wrong, I love how much he’s developing and progressing, it makes me proud as punch, sometimes I just wish he would slow down a bit!
We finally can give him baths again too, woooooooo.
Cat and Belle are his new words… Of all the words, cat and Belle! Although, it’s mostly ‘Elle’. Little monkey won’t say Mama anymore or Dada but goes gaga (ha, see what I did there) when it comes to saying Belle or cat. To be fair, they have a lovely relationship with eachother. Belle absolutely adores Buddy and it’s the same reversed. They’re often on the rug together just chilling. TOO CUTE.
Buddy went to his first soft play experience!
We went with my sister in law and her little boy George (there’s 23 days between Buddy and George) and we’re really close. Neither baby has experienced soft play before so we decided to brave it. Thankfully, it was really quiet because we went during school hours but both babies loved it! Buddy just enjoyed the freedom of being able to roam where he wanted. Buddy loved the ball pool in particular and this weird machine that blew air out and had balls hovering over it. All in all, great success (bonus because it was £1 too!)
